Houston, Texas – The MLK Carwash located in the South Park Community will be demolished this Wednesday morning. The Buildings and Standards Commission met February 18th and agreed that it has served as an eyesore and safety hazard to the community and voted for its demolition.

Where: MLk Carwash located at the intersection of MLK and Kassarine Pass
When: 8am. Wednesday, May 6th 2009
Who:  Various City of Houston Departments and Officials

What once stood as a thriving business unfortunately turned into blight and hazard for the South Park Community. As we continue to salute these communities who take an active role in improving their neighborhoods we aim to protect the quality of life and property value for each constituent in District D. We are particularly proud to have been involved with this decision and ask for your presence and acknowledgement at this great event.
